Roll Surface Inspection

A roll surface can only perform as required when its condition is accurately verified. Neo combines advanced non-destructive testing, precision measurement instruments, and the experience of trained inspectors to ensure that every roll meets the required specification.

Automated systems use Eddy Current Testing to detect cracks, bruises, and other defects at the roll surface. Ultrasonic Testing is used to identify cracks, inclusions, debonding, and other discontinuities located beneath the surface or deeper within the roll.

These technologies are complemented by careful visual inspection and measurements using calibrated hardness testers, roughness meters, and coating thickness gauges. When required, microscopic examination provides a detailed evaluation of the surface or coating structure.

By combining automated inspection with direct measurement and experienced human judgement, Neo can identify non-conforming conditions before the roll is returned to service.
